The Houston Cougars suffered a brutal loss in the national title game of the NCAA Tournament falling 65-63 to the Florida Gators.

Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson and his staff will now be forced to head back to the drawing board to discuss a game plan for the programs future.

While the Cougars will be saying goodbye to a couple of stars such as LJ Cryer and J'Wan Roberts, who have exhausted their NCAA eligibility, they recently picked up a major win in the transfer portal.

One of the top transfers in the portal, Pop Isaacs, committed to Houston, per  On3

Isaacs played eight games this past season. He went down with an injury in December, which sidelined him for the rest of the season.

During his lone season with the Creighton Blue Jays, Isaacs averaged 16.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

Before his time at Creighton, Isaacs played two years with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He's been an elite scorer throughout his college career, averaging 14.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game throughout the past three seasons.

Sampson will now have an incredible weapon to help lead the team back to the national title game with Isaacs seemingly taking the role that Cryer has played the past two seasons
