Heading into his senior season at Dream City Christian, he is the No. 1-ranked player in the state of Arizona. The 6-foot-2 point guard held offers from West Virginia, Arizona State, Cincinnati and Oklahoma State before cutting down his list.
In an interview with On3, Alozie said the family environment of the Arizona Wildcats caught his attention.
“It’s pretty much where I stay, super close,” he said. “It’s really family-based. They’ve been on me for a very, very long time, and I appreciate that.”
Alozie also mentioned that the defensive identity of the Houston Cougars and the system implemented by Kansas head coach Bill Self intrigued him.
All three of these Big 12 programs made the NCAA Tournament last season. Kansas finished 21-13, while Arizona (24-13) and Houston (35-5) put together successful seasons. Houston won the Big 12 and made it to the NCAA Championship game.
