Former Oklahoma small forward Jalon Moore tore his Achilles tendon during a pre-draft workout in San Antonio, his agent Mike Silverman told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. Moore has since undergone surgery to repair the injury and is expected to make a full recovery.

Moore averaged 15.9 points and 5.8 rebounds for the Sooners during the 2024-25 season. ESPN ranks him as the No. 63 prospect in the 2025 NBA Draft class.

He played two seasons at OU after beginning his career at Georgia Tech. Moore spent four years overall at the collegiate level.

Moore was a constant presence in the Sooners lineup over the past two seasons. He played 65 games for OU during his tenure and starting every single game he appeared in. This came after he started 16 of his first 45 games played in college while with the Yellow Jackets.

In his final season, Moore helped lead the Sooners to a 20-14 record that saw Oklahoma earn a No. 9 seed into the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Despite their best efforts against UConn in the first round, the Huskies would hold off Moore and the Sooners in the end. Moore finished his final game of college basketball with 13 points across 33 minutes on the court.

“First of all, I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love,” Moore told SoonerScoop after Oklahoma’s first-round NCAA Tournament exit in March. “I want to thank Coach Moser for taking a chance on a kid from Birmingham and developing my game and believing in me. I want to thank my teammates because they became my brothers. They had my back every step of the way.

“These two years in Norman, man, were special. I’ve grown as a person and as a player, and I think I’m going to leave here a better man. I just want to thank Sooner Nation.”

In total, Moore played in 110 games during his college basketball career, logging 81 start along the way. The experienced draft prospect averaged 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds during his four-year collegiate tenure. He scored 1,169 points and hauled in 580 rebounds over that span, including an impressive 173 offensive boards.

The 2025 NBA Draft is scheduled to be a two-day event beginning on June 25 and concluding on the 26 inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Despite the devastating injury, Moore will hope to hear his name called sometime over those two days.
