Following the fourth-straight winning season for Kansas State women’s basketball, the university rewarded head coach Jeff Mittie with a one-year contract extension through the 2029-30 season, per On3.

Mittie is set to begin his 12th season leading the program and has guided the Wildcats to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.

In 2024-25, KSU finished 28-8 and made it to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2002 before falling to No. 1-seeded USC.

The team tied for fourth in the Big 12, going 13-5 in conference play. Through 11 seasons, Mittie has a record of 218-143 and has made it to March Madness six times.

This marks the second straight offseason where Mittie has inked an extension. He helped five KSU players earn All-Big 12 honors, including star center Ayoka Lee.

In her career, Lee averaged 18.6 points per game, which is the most in program history. On Jan. 23, 2022, she scored 61 points in a win over Oklahoma, breaking the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball single-game scoring record.

Before his time in Manhattan, he spent 15 seasons with the TCU Horned Frogs, totaling 479 wins with the program.

He also showed why he is also one of the top recruiters in the country, securing commitments from 2025 five-star guard Jordan Speiser and four-star prospects Brandie Harrod and Aniya Foy.

KSU finished with at least 26 wins in back-to-back campaigns and will be in the mix for the Big 12 title this upcoming season.
