The Auburn Tigers recently capped off one of the best seasons in program history, having lost in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament.
Auburn was led by Naismith Player of the Year runner-up Johni Broome and freshman star Tahaad Pettiford.
While much of the attention surrounded Broome, who established himself as arguably the best two-way player in the SEC, Pettiford quietly had a phenomenal freshman season.
After averaging 11.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, Pettiford has officially announced that he will be declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft.
Upon the release of the news, Broome took to social media, reposting Pettiford's announcement, seemingly backing his Auburn teammate.
Before losing to the Florida Gators in the Final Four, Pettiford helped the Auburn Tigers earn NCAA Tournament wins over Michigan State, Michigan, Creighton and Alabama State.
In the loss to Florida, Pettiford recorded seven points, three rebounds and four assists.
Broome also had an incredible season for Auburn. The Sporting News Player of the Year, averaged 18.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game, leading the Tigers in all three major statistical categories.
While Broome has officially exhausted his NCAA eligibility, Pettiford will still have a chance to return to the Auburn Tigers after testing the NBA Draft waters.
