The Kansas Jayhawks begin their brutal three-game stretch to end the season with a home matchup against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
There is some new confidence in Lawrence after two straight wins, including one on the road. And the only two home losses this season have come by the slimmest of margins. Can the Jayhawks keep the momentum rolling against a depleted Red Raiders squad?

This stretch is what will likely define KU’s season and either a) get us believing again or b) solidify the idea that this team isn’t what we thought it was. I’m choosing positivity. In a world where there is so much going on that absolutely stinks and the news can and likely does bring you down in the snap of a finger, I’m choosing joy. Watching Kansas is supposed to be fun, and watching Kansas play at Allen Fieldhouse should be obviously viewed that way as well. Plus, Tech might be without two very significant players. That’s important. Gimme the Hawks and gimme that hope injection!

I really want to believe in the #NewSeason. And it’s been fun to see KU in control over the last two games against inferior teams (even if the Colorado game was more tense than the one versus Oklahoma State). Being in the Fieldhouse this weekend helps. And yet, I still can’t do it. I still believe this Kansas team is more like the one we saw for most of the season than the one that played the last two. I agree with Derek in the sense that I want the experience to be fun and I want this game to be a pleasant one, but, unfortunately, I don’t think KU has the juice. Please prove me wrong, I’m begging you.

If you had to pick a time to face the Red Raiders, this would be the time. Injuries are going to limit what Texas Tech can do in this game. But as they showed against Houston, they are plenty dangerous even without the full complement of players. If this game was on the road, I just wouldn't be able to do it. But the Jayhawks have the home crowd, a fired up team behind an energized Hunter Dickinson, and the ability to go deep enough in the bench to make the lack of depth hurt. Give me the Jayhawks to breath some hope back into the discussion for a decent seed.
