Iowa men's basketball head coach Fran McCaffery was ejected in what could be his final game as head coach.

Iowa was playing Illinois in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament and was down 69-60 with over 13 minutes to play in the second half when the officials stopped play to call a technical foul on McCaffery.

He didn't stop there and continued to bark at the officials before he got ejected.

Take a look:

McCaffery was eventually escorted off the bench and into the tunnel after he told his assistant to take over. Iowa eventually lost to Illinois by 12, 106-94.

Fans had some great reactions to this ejection when it occurred.

"They could never make me hate this man," one tweet read.

"That was the softest ejection ever," another tweet read.

"Not since Woody Hayes got fired for punching an opposing player has there been a more fitting end to a coaching tenure," another fan tweeted.

"Definitely feel like we didn’t get our moneys worth here," another tweet read.

"Fran McCaffery goes out with a double technical ejection while his team lets up 106 points and loses by double digits… Couldn’t have drawn up a more accurate encapsulation of the Fran-era than this final game," another tweet read.

Iowa beat Ohio State in the first round of the Big Ten tournament before losing to Illinois on Thursday. Forward Payton Sandfort led Iowa with 30 points, while guard Josh Dix was right behind him with 21.

If this was McCaffery's final game as head coach, he'll end his Iowa tenure with a 297-207 record. He has been Iowa's head coach for the last 15 seasons and has taken the program to the NCAA Tournament seven times.

Before coaching Iowa, he coached at Siena, UNC Greensboro, and Lehigh. He has an overall record of 548-384.
