March Madness: 2 upset targets for Saturday's NCAA Tournament slate

Day 1 of the NCAA Tournament produced multiple underdog winners in Oakland (+600), Duquesne (+330) and NC State (+165). The upsets aren't going to stop in the second round, so we're looking to target a pair of underdogs that have a great chance to win at plus money.

Michigan State vs. North Carolina (+155 BetMGM)

Spartans vs. Tar Heels, 5:30 p.m. ET, CBS

This is a big mismatch if you just look at the seeds, but the betting market says these teams are pretty evenly matched. North Carolina is only a 3.5-point favorite, which makes sense considering the Tar Heels are just seven spots above the Spartans in KenPom.

Michigan State is a dangerous team because it's well-coached, slows down the tempo and doesn't turn the ball over. UNC wants to run in transition and make this a high-scoring game, but Tom Izzo isn't going to let that happen. The Tar Heels are the weakest No. 1 seed in March Madness this year, so we have no problem knocking them out in the second round.

Oregon vs. Creighton (+190 DraftKings)

Ducks vs. Bluejays, 9:40 p.m. ET, TBS, truTV

This Oregon team is a serious threat to make a deep run in the Midwest Region. The Ducks battled injuries all year, but they're healthy and playing their best basketball of the season at the right time.

Creighton's strength on defense is its ability to protect the rim with center Ryan Kalkbrenner, but Oregon has the perfect recipe to combat that advantage. Dominant center N'Faly Dante is shooting 70.5 percent from the field this year, and he's made an incredible 58 of his last 69 field-goal attempts (84.1 percent). Guard Jermaine Couisnard is also coming off a 40-point performance against South Carolina in the Round of 64.

Dana Altman is a master of switching up defenses and confusing opposing offenses with foreign looks. That's exactly what he'll attempt to do against an elite shooting team in Creighton.
