The Michigan Wolverines fell short of their goal of a college basketball championship this past weekend at the Sweet 16 in Atlanta, Georgia as the Auburn Tigers proved too much for coach Dusty May's team.
The Wolverines were without one of their best shooters, former transfer Sam Walters, who missed the last 14 games of the 2024-2025 season while dealing with a back injury.
On Monday Walters, the former Alabama transfer, announced he would once again be entering the portal for the 2025 offseason.
Walters' decision came after he sent a message to Michigan fans on X that caught the attention of diehard Michigan fans.
"Forever Go Blue," a message retweeted by Walters read the day after Michigan's March 28 loss to the Tigers went down in Atlanta.

The retweet appeared to show Walters' love for coach Dusty May's program following the tough loss, amid an incredible Sweet 16 and Big Ten Tournament Championship run by the Wolverines.
Walters will now choose another new team as he seeks to carve out a role for himself as a contributing rotation player for another NCAA team next season.
The 6-foot-10 sophomore forward shot 42.5% from the field including 36.6% from three-point range with Michigan in one brief season.
