Michigan State basketball held its senior day on Wednesday night and the seniors got to kiss the logo after the game.

What a senior night this turned into. The game itself was one of the ugliest senior nights I have ever seen, but all that matters is that they got the win. Michigan State basketball fought back after a five-point halftime deficit to defeat Northwestern 53-49.

Usually the Spartans are used to dominant performances on senior night, but that didn’t happen on Wednesday. But there is one big reason why this senior night felt weird. We never got to see the seniors kiss the Spartan logo.

We often see each senior kiss the logo in the last couple minutes of the game, but that didn’t happen this time because it was so close. Thankfully for the fans that weren’t at the game, our friends in the arena had us covered. Special shoutout to Rico Beard for sharing these clips.

The Spartans’ final regular season game is Sunday afternoon at Indiana. The Big Ten Tournament will follow that game next week with the NCAA Tournament the week after. This win against Northwestern likely clinches their trip into the Big Dance, so we hopefully don’t have to sweat that anymore.

This may have been a rough stretch of years for MSU, but these seniors still gave us all a lot of memories. I’m glad they got to finish their careers with a win at the Breslin Center, even if it was a little unconventional.

Note: Malik Hall did not participate in the senior night festivities as he did so last year.
