Multiple Reports: Oklahoma Sophomore Hitting Transfer Portal
USA TODAY Sports

Add another one to the transfer portal for Oklahoma.

After a season that saw his role become greatly reduced as it went on, OU sophomore guard C.J. Noland is entering the transfer portal according to multiple reports.

2022-23 was certainly a disappointing campaign for Noland after he showed encouraging signs in his freshman campaign the year prior.

Entering the season, he began the year in the starting lineup but slowly saw that role wane to the point he rarely saw the floor down the stretch of the season.

In fact, Noland didn’t see any minutes in each of the Sooners’ final four games - making this decision seem like all but an inevitability.

On the year, he finished the season averaging just 3.2 points and 1.3 rebounds per game - down from 3.9 points and 1.5 rebounds per game last season as a true freshman.

A Lon Kruger recruit, Noland committed to Oklahoma as a 4-star guard in the 2021 recruiting class out of Waxahachie, TX.

Despite the coaching change with Kruger retiring and Porter Moser being hired, Noland stayed committed to the Sooners. But after two season, his time in Norman has come to an end.

The sophomore becomes the second OU player to hit the transfer portal in as many days after freshman Benny Schroeder did the same on Monday
