Murray State vs Charlotte College Basketball Betting Preview

With three straight losses coming into this game, Murray State is due for a victory.

The Racers’ guard play gives them an advantage, as JaCobi Wood, Kylen Milton, AJ Ferguson and Terence Harcum all average double figures.

But there are a couple of things working against Murray State’s favor.

First, the Racers don’t have great depth, and that poses as a major concern when they are playing their second game in two days.

Second, the 49ers just got Giancarlo Rosado back against Hawaii for the first time in almost a month, and he scored eight points on 4-of-7 shooting off the bench.

I don’t think Charlotte will win this game — its 213th in KenPom with a loss to No. 335 LIU for a reason — but there is value on this spread.

Bart Torvik has the number at 4 in favor of Murray State, giving us almost 2.5 points of value on the 49ers.

That, and Murray State’s lack of depth, is good enough for me to lay a small chunk of change on this 49ers team.

You have to remember, the 49ers traveled all the way to Hawaii and played a host Rainbow Warriors team in the first round of the Diamond Head Classic — thus it’s not a surprise that they were blown out by 17 points.

With an extra day to adjust to the time zone — and dueling a team that’s also on a level playing field with them in this area — Charlotte might actually be fresher.

Murray State has issues on the interior, and even though Charlotte ranks 329th in the country in rebounding, getting the fifth-year, ex-FAU forward Rosado back could be key to this handicap due to his ability to score inside.

But even if Rosado is still on limited minutes, there is value on the 49ers keeping this game close down to 5.
