Head coach Todd Golden and the Florida Gators are coming off an incredible 2024-25 season. Florida went 36-4 overall, won an SEC Tournament title and stood atop the college basketball world as the national champions. Golden and company are now shifting their focus to the future, as they look to add names like Jasiah Jervis to their 2026 class.
Jervis, a four-star shooting guard from the Bronx, New York, has risen up the recruiting rankings over the past year and has caught the attention of several high-profile schools.
On Wednesday, Jervis announced he has cut his list of potential schools to eight, which includes the defending NCAA champions, per Rivals' Jamie Shaw.
The 6-foot-5, 180-pound guard is ranked as the fifth-best shooting guard and No. 23 overall recruit in the 2026 class, according to Rivals.
Outside of Florida, Jervis named the Texas Longhorns, Tennessee Volunteers, Michigan State Spartans, NC State Wolfpack, Illinois Fighting Illini, Oregon Ducks and Pitt Panthers in his final eight.
Jervis has scheduled visits to each of these eight finalists, with his visit to Florida coming Oct. 17-19, per 247Sports' Dushawn London.
He has improved every year playing for Archbishop Stepinac. In his junior season last year, Jervis led the team in scoring with 16.2 points per game to go with 5.3 rebounds, over three assists and nearly two steals per contest, according to MaxPreps. He also led the Crusaders in 3-point shooting at 40%.
It is still quite early in the 2026 recruiting cycle for basketball, as Florida doesn't have any commits thus far. However, if the Gators can secure a pledge from Jervis, it would continue the ever-growing legacy of star guards to come through Golden's program.
