The Kentucky Wildcats have always seemed to be in the running for the top high school basketball prospects, and that hasn’t changed. Their prestige as a program is undeniable, with eight national championships and 17 Final Four appearances.

They’ve also had plenty of players go on to have successful NBA careers, including Anthony Davis, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Karl-Anthony Towns, Devin Booker, Bam Adebayo, Jamal Murray and Tyler Herro.

Recently, Kentucky and head coach Mark Pope extended a scholarship offer to C.J. Rosser, the top-ranked prospect in the class of 2027 (On3)

The 6-foot-9 power forward spoke about the offer and admitted he was "surprised" when the Wildcats offered him. Rosser also touched on the number of NBA players who come out of Lexington.

"It’s a big school that produces a lot of NBA prospects," Rosser told KSR+. "A lot of NBA players come through there, and I could be one-and-done.”

Rosser is from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and plays high school basketball for Northern Nash. He has two more seasons there, as he’s entering his junior year.

The offers started piling up after an unofficial visit in February to Duke, which is about an hour and a half from where he lives. Since then, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, TCU, and Maryland have also extended offers.

In a recent interview with 247Sports, Rosser's trainer Darius Spragley spoke about his character.

"What makes CJ special is his character off the court and how he is molding into a leader," Spragley said. "He's learning and that's one of the great things about him. He's always willing to learn, he's like a sponge who's willing to absorb knowledge. For on the court he's a really good at shooting and posting up in the mid post."
