The Ole Miss basketball program has been completely revamped under head coach Chris Beard. In just his second year at the school, he took the Rebels to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament and helped them earn a winning record in a loaded SEC conference.
Beard has had ample success with recruiting transfers, as Virginia Tech transfer Sean Pedulla became the main catalyst for Ole Miss last season and one of the most exciting players in the country during March Madness. After losing most of last year's squad to graduation or the transfer portal, Beard has loaded up once again with talented transfers.
Ole Miss received more good transfer portal news on Wednesday, as On3 Sports' Billy Embody reported that former Charleston and Louisville forward James Scott committed to Coach Beard and the Rebels. According to On3 Sports, Scott's NIL valuation is $886,000.
After following head coach Pat Kelsey from Charleston to Louisville, Scott seemingly wanted a change of scenery after a 7.1-point, 6.1-rebound per game campaign during his sophomore season with the Cardinals. He'll now join a Rebels team full of new faces, and he'll look to make an impact alongside frontcourt players like Malik Dia, AJ Storr and Corey Chest.
