The Happy Valley Hoopers are officially back in The Basketball Tournament 2025 (TBT), looking to defend their regional championship from a year ago.
TBT is a 64-team, March Madness–style bracket competition, where one team takes home the winner-take-all $1 million prize. Happy Valley Hoopers is a Penn State Alumni Team, participating for the third season under Coach Ross Condon and GM/Player John Harrar. The team is mostly alumni from the Penn State Basketball program over the past few years.
TBT 2025 announced their full bracket and the Happy Valley Hoopers earned a 1 seed in the Harrisonburg, VA (James Madison University) region, with a first-round matchup on Friday, July 18th at 3:00 pm vs. the Raleigh 919 Legends. The game will be livestreamed on YouTube and tickets are now available.
Returning to the 2025 Hoopers roster is the aforementioned Harrar, Curtis Jones, Greg Lee, Izaiah Brockington, Myreon Jones, and Trent Buttrick, all former Nittany Lions.
After a year away, returning are Jamari Wheeler and Mike Watkins. New to TBT are Andrew Funk and Dallion Johnson. The only non-Penn State alumni are Juwaun Daniels, who participated with the Hoopers last year, and Keeshawn Kellman, a teammate of Dallion Johnson at Florida Gulf Coast (whose head coach, Pat Chambers, coached almost this entire roster at Penn State).
