Two players that held Pitt offers in the class of 2025 are now off the Panthers’ recruiting board.
Matthew Gilhool and Jordan Scott, two rising seniors, both narrowed down their recruiting lists on Monday, excluding Pitt from their recruitments going forward.
Gilhool received an offer from Pitt on Sept. 12, 2022, while taking an unofficial visit to check out the Panthers. He attended the Pitt Vs. Tennessee football game that weekend, taking in the action alongside Carlton “Bub” Carrington, Marlon Barnes, Jaland Lowe, and Thomas Sorber (now a Georgetown commit)
Matthew Gilhool alongside Jeff Capel before the Pitt Tennessee football game in 2022.
On Monday, Gilhool narrowed his list down to seven schools: Iowa, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, and Utah.
In addition, 2025 prospect Jordan Scott narrowed his list down to just three schools and did not include Pitt. Scott narrowed his list down to Michigan State, Maryland, and Virginia Tech. Back on May 22, 2023, Jeff Capel and Milan Brown called up Scott to extend an offer to him on behalf of the Pitt program. However, he has now decided to take his talents elsewhere, and he may even end up playing against the Panthers if he chooses to play for the Virginia Tech Hokies.
