The Texas Tech Red Raiders men's basketball team dominated the Wyoming Cowboys on Wednesday 96-49 inside United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock.
JT Toppin posted a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds in the win while Devan Cambridge broke the 1,000-point mark for his career.
It's 33 consecutive non-conference home wins for Texas Tech after the win over the Cowboys where they forced 25 total turnovers and 17 steals.
The offense was efficient once again with a 63.9 shooting percentage from the field and 55.6 percent from beyond the arc. The Red Raiders saw runs of 14-0 to start the game and 22-4 to finish it.
"I thought for our team to have added Christian and Elijah it really showed how aggressive we can be defensively," Texas Tech coach Grant McCasland said. "The difference in the game for me was forcing turnovers. Our ball pressure ramped up and those guys just did a great job making it difficult for them.
"Our offense has a lot of guys who can score. As long as we keep sharing the basketball, this team can be really good. They're so much fun to be around and to coach."
Toppin notched his first double-double with the Red Raiders and the 13th overall of his career. The New Mexico sophomore transfer is averaging 22.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest.
"You can see he can really attack on both ends of the floor," McCasland said. "He's been tremendous. He really wants to know how to be better. He comes out of timeouts and is asking questions. I love that about him. He has a heart to learn. He's as good as anyone in the country. He really is. There's not a lot of things he can't do."
Tech led 46-20 at the half behind Toppin's 14 points and eight rebounds.
Next up for the Red Raiders is Arkansas-Pine Bluff at United Supermarkets Arena on Monday night.
