The No. 1 seed Auburn Tigers faced off against the No. 2 Michigan State Spartans on Sunday in the NCAA Tournament's South Regional Final. With Florida, Duke and Houston already punching their tickets to the Final Four, Auburn and Michigan State were battling for the last remaining spot.
Auburn was leading the entire game, but things took a turn midway through the second half. The Sporting News National College Player of the Year , Johni Broome, went down in serious pain during an attempt to block a shot.
He landed hard on his right arm and spent several moments with the trainer afterward.
Meanwhile, CBS aired a slow-motion replay on national television, giving fans a closer look at what happened.
Broome then headed to the locker room for an X-ray.

The X-rays came back negative, and after missing about five minutes of action, he returned to the court with a loud ovation from the traveling Auburn fans.
Within seconds, he drilled a three-pointer to extend the Tigers' lead to 12 (60-48).
Auburn went on to win, 70-64, to advance to the program's second-ever Final Four. Despite finishing the game, Broome's injury is something to watch going into Saturday's game against the Florida Gators in San Antonio.
