Top Transfers that UNLV should target with new coach

In the time following Kevin Kruger’s departure, the UNLV Men’s basketball program has gone under significant change.

The Runnin’ Rebels lost a lot of talent to the transfer portal.

UNLV has now hired former Memphis coach Josh Pastner who is capable of attracting talent on his own through the transfer portal.

There is a huge amount of talent in the Mountain West Conference that Pastner and the UNLV program can draw from.

These three players UNLV could target in the transfer portal that already exist in the Mountain West according to UNLV on SI

PG Zaon Collins, Fresno State Bulldogs

With the deep presence of Dedan Thomas, Jr missing, Zaon Collins could step in to fill the gap. During his time with Fresno State, Collins averaged 12.4 points per game this season. Collins was also fourth in the conference in assists, averaging 4.6 assists per game.

PF Justin McBride, Nevada Wolf Pack

Justin McBride is a junior forward who has ample potential to be unlocked. This past season, McBride average 7.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. McBride could possibly fill the void left by senior Isaiah Cottrell.

SG Tru Washington, New Mexico Lobos

Tru Washington will be a great addition to the Runnin’ Rebels backcourt. Washinton averaged 11.1 points per game and with New Mexico 4.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. On the defensive side of the ball, Washington averaged 2.1 steal per game. Washington’s game could help rebuild the backcourt with the departure of not only Thomas, Jr but James Evans, Jr who also entered the transfer portal.
