The 2022-23 college basketball regular season is in the books, and it’s time to divvy out some hardware.
On Sunday, the Big 12 has announced their yearly awards with three Oklahoma players picking up all-conference honors.
Guard Milos Uzan was selected to the Big 12’s all-freshman team, with forward Jalen Hill and guard Grant Sherfield picking up selections as all-conference honorable mentions.
Starting in 23 games as a true freshman, Uzan averaged 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the Sooners in league play.
He finished the season ranking 12th in the Big 12 in total assists with 93 and assists-to-turnover ratio at 1.39.
Sherfield started all 31 games as OU’s primary ball-handler and scorer, leading the team in points (16.1) and assists (3.3) per game.
He closed the campaign leading the conference in total three-pointers made with 81 on the season.
Hill, like Sherfield, also started all 31 games this season for Oklahoma performing as arguably the team’s most consistent player on a night-to-night basis.
The senior averaged 9.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while also playing high-level defense for Porter Moser’s squad, finishing the year sixth in the league in defensive rebounds per game (4.7).
While the season didn’t go as planned for the Sooners, the team did manage to pick up several notable wins over the course of the year including Saturday’s 14-point victory over No. 22 TCU in the home finale.
Oklahoma will resume action on Wednesday against Oklahoma State in the first round of the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City.
