The 2024-25 college basketball season ended on Monday night.

Florida and Houston played a National Championship Game for the ages but in the end, it was Florida bringing home its first national title since 2007. Florida was the best team in the country over the past couple of months and it was on display during the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

The Gators rallied from deficits in most of their tournament games, including against the Cougars. They were down by 12 in the second half before coming back to win by a basket, 65-63.

With the season over, Ryan Brewer, an associate professor of finance at Indiana University Columbus, ranked the "most valuable" college basketball programs coming out of the year and has the North Carolina Tar Heels in the top spot.

The Tar Heels have a $23.1 million cash flow, $38 million revenue, and $378 million enterprise value. It should come as no surprise that the Tar Heels are in the top spot since they are usually contending for national titles every year.

The Heels have won six national titles in men's college basketball and last got to the National Championship Game in 2022. They got to the final before losing to the Kansas Jayhawks, 72-69.

Their last title win came in 2017 when Roy Williams was still the head coach. Hubert Davis has been the head coach for the last four seasons, taking the Heels to the NCAA Tournament three times, including this year.

Davis got the Heels to the NCAA Tournament this year even though a lot of fans felt they should not have made it. They won their first-four matchup before losing to the Ole Miss Rebels in the first round.

They'll look to be better next season and try to make a deeper run at the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
