Dayton vs. North Carolina: The Tar Heels had to battle back from down as many as 21 in the second half to defeat the Flyers, 92-90 in the opening round of the Maui Invitational. Dayton made 14 three-pointers in the game, but North Carolina got to the foul line 34 times and made 27 of their attempts. RJ Davis and Seth Trimble both had monster performances and were the key players in the Tar Heels' comeback. Davis had 30 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and a steal. Trimble had 27 points, 10 rebounds, a steal, and a block. Dayton had seven players score nine or more points with Nate Santos scoring a team-high 15. Enoch Cheeks had 11 points and eight rebounds.
