After two seasons at New Mexico, Tru Washington went up a level of competition and played his junior season in the ACC with Miami. After starting the year as a starter, Washington got moved to the bench for Miami and ended up coming in second place in the voting for the ACC's Sixth Man of the Year award. He upped his scoring to a career-high 12.1 points per game in 2025-26. He also averaged. 3.9 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 1.7 assists per game.
