The Virginia Tech Hokies defended their home court in opening the season with a 77-62 victory over Radford. Junior Keve Aluma led the way for the Hokies with 19 points on 7-10 shooting in the win. Sophomores Nahiem Alleyne and Hunter Cattoor scored 14 and 12 respectively. The Hokies defense helped hold Radford to just 39.6% shooting from the floor.
