Wesley Yates III's Future With Eric Musselman, USC Revealed
Jay Biggerstaff/USA TODAY Sports

The USC Trojans' chances of making it to March Madness are getting slimmer by the day. While this California-based team is mostly known as a factory for NBA talent, players have been known to take their skills elsewhere if a program does not give them a sense of winning basketball.

Wesley Yates III has been a big spark for Coach Eric Musselman's squad. Is he staying with them until his draft eligibility comes up?

After USC's loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes, Yates got real about what he wanted his future in college basketball to look like. He even touched upon his plans alongside Coach Musselman, via the USC Trojans site.

"I'm locked in here. We've just got to get through this season, taking it one game at a time. He has been helping me every day to become a better person, helping me become a better basketball player. You can see it translate on the court, that belief he has in me…I can't thank him enough for allowing me to be me and allowing me to grow as this individual," the USC basketball star said.

Notably, Yates left the Washington Huskies to join Coach Musselman at USC. This decision seems to have paid its dividends. Despite their 87-82 loss to Ohio State, he was able to score 27 points and drop three assists to keep the game close.

Entering his junior season, he is likely going to take a bigger leap in terms of production while also becoming more efficient due to maturity.
