Yaxel Lendeborg and the Michigan Wolverines wrapped up their incredible season by defeating the UConn Huskies in the national championship.
Prior to Monday night's game at Lucas Oil Stadium, Lendeborg paid respect to all of the star players that came before him at Michigan, including the members of the Fab Five.
"We all love each other, and that plays a big part in the games like Monday night," Lendeborg said. "So, we're going to do the best we can, and the Fab Five is here, so we're going to do the best to honor those guys, too."
Well, the Wolverines certainly honored their alumni on Monday. Despite only going 2-of-15 from beyond the arc, Dusty May's squad took out the Huskies to claim their first national title since 1989.
Lendeborg appeared on "The Pat McAfee Show" this Tuesday to discuss Michigan's win over UConn in the national championship game.
When asked if the 2025-26 Michigan team is the best in program history, Lendeborg revealed what the Fab Five members had to say on this subject.
"The Fab Five members said we had to get a championship," Lendeborg said. "We got it done and I'm waiting to hear what they think now. I'm willing to run with it if they say we are [the best team in Michigan history]."
We're still waiting for confirmation from the Fab Five, but it sounds like Juwan Howard, Chris Webber and the rest of the crew are willing to give this title to Lendeborg and co.
