Caitlin Clark is celebrating a key teammate’s success. After guard Kylie Feuerbach was named to the Big Ten All Defensive Team, Clark shared a heartfelt message on Instagram praising her longtime ‘roomie’ for handling the tough defensive assignments.

“Roomie was doing the defense part for both of us for years.”

The comment quickly caught fans’ attention. Clark and Feuerbach spent multiple seasons together at Iowa, where their roles on the court were clear. Clark carried the scoring load, while Feuerbach often took on the toughest defensive assignments.

During that stretch, Iowa became one of the top programs in the country. Clark led the offense for the Hawkeyes as they made it to the national championship game two years in a row in 2023 and 2024. Teammates like Feuerbach stepped up to play important defensive roles. Feuerbach had 0.7 steals per game, and that number has increased to 1.5 steals per game in the last season.

Clark’s message was short, but it said a lot. For many years, while she was dominating in the offense, Feuerbach took care of the tough work in the defense. Now, that hard work is being appreciated properly.

But It’s Not The End of The Road

As the number 2 seed in the country, all eyes are on the Iowa Hawkeyes as they prepare to take on their next opponent in the Big Ten.

Since the top four teams get a bye, the Hawkeyes will have some time before they face Michigan State, Wisconsin or Illinois on Friday.

For Feuerbach, winning is the only option. With this season being her last in college basketball, she will want to go out on a high note, and the team certainly has the resources to do that.
