Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers continue their pursuit of the top prospects in America with the program remaining active on the recruiting trail this offseason.

Mulkey's staff hit the road this weekend to watch multiple targets in both the 2026 and 2027 cycles with a fresh offer being dished out on Saturday.

Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence Central five-star Lola Lampley earned a scholarship after receiving the call from the LSU Tigers.

Lampley, a 6-foot-2 power forward, is down to five schools with the Florida State Seminoles, UCLA Bruins, Duke Blue Devils, Mississippi State Bulldogs and North Carolina State Wolfpack making the cut.

But the LSU Tigers are looking to get in the mix for one of the top prospects in the 2026 Recruiting Cycle.

Lampley has impressed on the travel ball circuit this offseason with the LSU coaching staff getting a firsthand look once again.

Now, she adds a scholarship from Mulkey and Co. in her back pocket as she navigates a critical stretch in her recruitment.

Lampley is the No. 18 overall prospect in America and the No. 6 rated power forward in the 2026 Recruiting Cycle.

The 247Sports Evaluation: "Lampley is a major factor both inside and outside on the hardwood. She is a capable scoring option, especially within 15 feet.

"Lampley, who was a member of the USA Basketball 17-and-Under team, has taken a major step forward in her game over the last 12 months.

"Her ability to serve in multiple roles as a scoring presence and a defensive stalwart makes her unique."

LSU has dished out multiple new offers this week with a primary focus on rebuilding the frontcourt for the future of the program.

The New Offer: Lelee Bell

The latest offer is out with LSU offering Minot (N.D.) four-star power forward Leelee Bell on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-3 forward has quickly become one of the hottest names in the market on the Adidas Circuit with the top programs extending scholarships.

LSU, Indiana, Arizona State, Auburn, Ohio State, Penn State, Kansas and Wake Forest, among several others, have entered the mix this offseason.

Bell is the No. 21 overall prospect in the 2026 Recruiting Cycle and the No. 7 power forward in America.

Mulkey and Co. are now in the mix as the most recent offer as they look to build out the frontcourt for the future.

Steelers Host Former First-Round LB

After Ja'Whaun Bentley and Jon Rhattigan departed their practice squad, the Pittsburgh Steelers have continued to seek out replacements for the two veteran linebackers. Alongside signing Jacoby Windmon, the Steelers hosted former first-round pick Isaiah Simmons for a workout at their South Side facility as they prepare to face the Cleveland Browns in Week 6, per multiple reports. Simmons' Prior Experience Simmons spent his entire collegiate career at Clemson, which began with a redshirt year in 2016, during which he appeared in one game and recorded a single tackle. Over the following three seasons, he helped the program win a national title (2018) while posting 237 tackles, 9.5 sacks and four interceptions while being named an All-American in 2019. Lauded for his athleticism and versatility on defense, Simmons ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash to go alongside a 39-inch vertical at the NFL Scouting Combine in 2020. The Arizona Cardinals selected him with the No. 8 overall pick in that year's draft, but he never quite lived up to the hype for them. After logging 258 tackles, 7.5 sacks and four interceptions for the team through the 2022 season, Simmons was traded to the New York Giants ahead of the 2023 campaign. He would end up appearing in a total of 34 contests for the Giants through 2024, racking up 71 tackles and an interception in the process, before signing with the Green Bay Packers back in April. Simmons was released after not making their initial 53-man roster, however, and has remained a free agent ever since. Simmons' Potential Fit in Pittsburgh Simmons has been used as an edge rusher, off-ball linebacker, safety and slot defender throughout his career, further showcasing just how versatile he is. The 27-year-old has also logged 563 special teams reps throughout his career, and he spent a majority of his snaps (86) from the slot with the Giants as opposed to in the box (73) or up front on the defensive line (10) last season, per Pro Football Focus. If Pittsburgh were to go forward and sign Simmons, he could theoretically provide depth at a number of different positions while also helping out on special teams. Though he hasn't fulfilled the expectations placed on him when he first entered the league, he could still provide value to the Steelers should he eventually join the team.

Former Yankees, Mariners prospect hospitalized following motorcycle crash

Jesús Montero failed to develop into the baseball star that some thought he might, despite repeatedly appearing on preseason top prospect rankings. The former New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners catcher failed to capitalize on that potential and turn it into a long career. Once viewed as New York's "catcher of the future," Montero played in just 226 games during his five-year MLB career. His last professional appearance came during the 2020-21 Venezuelan Winter League, where he went 0-for-17 at the plate with six strikeouts. Montero, according to Spanish-language reports out of Venezuela, has been hospitalized in his home country following a traffic accident. The now 35-year-old was reportedly riding his motorcycle when a suspected drunk driver hit him. Montero is in critical condition after suffering multiple leg fractures, broken ribs and lung damage. Jesus Montero's Yankees stint lasted 18 games New York originally signed Montero as an international amateur free agent in 2006. The power-hitting prospect, one of the best bats available in the free agent class, was given a $2 million signing bonus. By 2009, Montero was appearing on preseason prospect rankings — landing on Baseball America's Top 100 list in four consecutive seasons. The Yankees called Montero up for his MLB debut when rosters expanded in September 2011. He'd appear in 18 games, hitting .328/.406/.590 with four home runs in 69 PA. Jesus Montero traded to Mariners in January 2012 Montero was traded, along with right-hander Héctor Noesí, to the Mariners the following offseason for right-handers Michael Pineda and Jose Campos. Over parts of four seasons, he batted .247/.285/.383 over 796 PA with 24 home runs. Seattle ultimately sent him down to Triple-A due to his defensive limitations with the hope that he'd learn to play first base. His Seattle tenure was marred by constant rumblings about his physical shape and attitude, including a 2014 incident where he threw an ice cream sandwich at a scout while on a rehab assignment.

Steelers' Aaron Rodgers Admits He's Doing Extra Research Ahead Of First AFC North Game

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 41-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers has given the fan base a real reason for optimism so far in the 2025 season. Rodgers has completed 68.5% of his passes for 786 yards and eight touchdowns against just three interceptions. His steady play has helped the Steelers reach a 3-1 record coming out of the bye week, providing hope that the team can compete at a high level this season. Now, Rodgers is gearing up for his first taste of AFC North division play. Known for his meticulous preparation and deep understanding of the game, Rodgers has a profound respect for the league’s history. That respect has him doing extra research ahead of the matchup, making sure he’s ready for the challenges that come with facing hated rivals. Speaking with Steelers insider Brooke Pryor on Wednesday, Rodgers shared his thoughts on the intensity of the AFC North rivalry and what it means to him personally. He emphasized that every division game is an opportunity to prove himself and lead the Steelers to victories that could define the season. Fans are encouraged by his commitment, experience, and the poise he continues to bring to the field. "I was asking PQ [Patrick Queen] about it the other day because he has been on both sides of it," Rodgers said while speaking to the Pittsburgh media on Wednesday. "In my own time in the North and the NFC, I think it was always a great rivalry with Chicago. Minnesota, the states don’t like each other, so there was more blood between the fans, and uh, Detroit, there wasn’t that same type of energy. We wanted to beat them, but there wasn’t like that hatred." Rodgers also recalled some of the intense rivalries he experienced for the majority of his legendary NFL career with the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North. Drawing on that experience, he’s taking extra steps to prepare for the AFC North, including reaching out to Patrick Queen, who joined the Steelers from a division rival ahead of the 2024 season. By learning from teammates who have firsthand knowledge of the division, Rodgers is ensuring he has every advantage heading into the matchup. "It seems like with this, the rivalry is with the Browns and the hatred goes both ways between the Steelers-Bengals and Steelers-Ravens," Rodgers said. It’s clear that Rodgers is genuinely excited for his first taste of divisional football with the Steelers. He has done an excellent job leading the team through the 2025 season so far. Now, with AFC North play on the horizon, it’s a chance for Rodgers to prove to the NFL world that he still has his vintage division-game magic. Steelers' Aaron Rodgers Gives Team A Real Chance In 2025 Many Steelers fans are cautiously optimistic about the team’s 3-1 start, a sentiment shaped by the disappointing finish to the 2024 season. Last year, the Steelers started hot but went on an embarrassing losing streak that derailed their playoff hopes. Now, with Rodgers leading the team, there is hope that his steady leadership and veteran quarterback play can carry the Steelers through the tough stretches of the schedule. It all begins with AFC North play, and Rodgers appears ready to guide his team with the poise and experience that has defined his legendary career. What do you expect to see out of Aaron Rodgers' stat line in his first AFC North contest?

Packers’ Matt LaFleur has three word message on facing Joe Flacco

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and staff had to do an about face after the Bengals traded for Joe Flacco on Tuesday. After presumably preparing for quarterback Jake Browning ahead of Week 6, Green Bay’s staff now must adapt to facing Flacco for the second time in the past four weeks, with the opportunity to avenge a 13-10 loss on the table. “It’ll be interesting,” LaFleur told reporters, about facing Flacco with so little time to prepare. Packers’ Matt LaFleur has plenty of respect for Joe Flacco The last time the Packers faced Flacco, with the Browns, in Cleveland, Jeff Hafley’s defense held up pretty well against the veteran quarterback. Flacco managed just a season-low 142 passing yards with an interception, as the Browns’ defense benefited from an ill-timed and costly Jordan Love interception to set up a touchdown to get the Browns back into the game. “He can make every throw. He’s super intelligent. He throws on time. The ball is going to come out of his hand, so I’ve got a lot of respect for him,” LaFleur told reporters. Flacco got the better of Green Bay last time, even if his personal production wasn’t the driving force. LaFleur’s challenge now is making sure history doesn’t repeat itself.
