No. 11 Oregon women's basketball pauses, has two games postponed

The Oregon Ducks women's basketball team, ranked No. 11 in the country, has become the latest Pac-12 program to temporarily halt activities.

Oregon confirmed on Friday that it is going on pause due to unspecified COVID-19 issues affecting the team. As a result, Friday's game at the Utah Utes and Sunday's contest at the Colorado Buffaloes are postponed. No makeup dates were included in the brief statement.

The No. 10-ranked Arizona Wildcats and the California Golden Bears are also paused heading into the weekend. California hasn't competed since Jan. 15 and isn't scheduled to resume play until Feb. 5 at the earliest.

Oregon improved to 11-3 overall and 9-3 in conference play with a 69-52 win over the Washington Huskies last Sunday. The Ducks are next set to host the Arizona State Sun Devils on Feb. 5, but the status of that game won't be updated until some point next week.

"When you look at the other programs, a lot of them have had to pause activities," Oregon coach Kelly Graves said on Thursday, per Ryan Thorburn of the Register-Guard. "We knock on wood, have not had to do that. I really credit my team. I think they’ve been terrific. They’ve been vigilant, they’ve stayed in their own bubble. They’ve done what we’ve asked them to do."
