One of coach Kim Mulkey’s starters from this past season has finally made a decision on her next transfer destination. Earlier today, it was reported that LSU women’s basketball guard Hailey Van Lith has committed to TCU for the 2024-25 season.

LSU women’s basketball guard Hailey Van Lith reportedly makes final transfer decision

It was a tough 2023-24 season for LSU women’s basketball guard Hailey Van Lith. After coming in with sky-high expectations – largely thanks to her elite scoring ability – she never quite lived up to the standard many had placed on her following a fantastic career at Louisville the previous three seasons.

Even so, this was likely due to a lack of fit more than anything, as she’s more than shown some high-level ability when given the opportunity. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be in Baton Rouge, and shortly after the team’s Elite Eight loss vs. Iowa, the 5-foot-7 senior announced her decision to transfer.

Now, just a few weeks later, it appears she’s made a decision. Earlier this morning, Talia Goodman of The Next Hoops reported that Van Lith would make her way West to play for head coach Mark Campbell at TCU.

At first glance, making the decision to transfer to TCU could be an excellent fit for the talented guard out of Wenatchee, WA. She’ll be teaming up with several high-level pieces including center Sedona Prince and guard Haley Cavinder.

Notably, with Prince standing at 6-foot-7, defenses will be forced to stay close to the basket, allowing Van Lith to do what she does best and make open shots from mid-range and beyond the three-point arc.

In her one season under head coach Kim Mulkey, Van Lith started all 33 games, averaging 11.6 points, 3.6 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 31.3 minutes per game. With her making the trip out to the Big 12, she’ll have one more year of eligibility remaining before likely heading over to the 2025 WNBA Draft.
