UConn beats NC State in double overtime thriller to go to Final Four

The Connecticut Huskies women's basketball team is headed to its 14th consecutive Final Four after a thrilling, 91-87, double overtime victory over the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

UConn led by as many as 10 in the second quarter, but NC State chipped away and pulled even in the fourth quarter. In the final seconds of regulation, the Wolfpack had an opportunity to win, but Kai Crutchfield's last second three-point try missed and the two teams went to overtime tied, 61-61.

The Huskies led by three in the final seconds of overtime -- partially thanks to a controversial no-call -- but NC State tied the game with a three-pointer from Jakia Brown-Turner with less than a second left to force double overtime.

In double overtime, UConn jumped out to an early lead with a three-pointer from Paige Bueckers on its first possession and never gave up the lead.

Bueckers led all scorers with 27 points after taking over late and scoring 15 points in the pair of overtime periods. The Huskies got another 21 points from Christyn Williams.

UConn will face Stanford with a trip to the national championship on the line, but the Huskies will be without forward Dorka Juhasz, who suffered a graphic wrist injury during the game Monday.
