The USC Trojans women's basketball season came to a close in heartbreaking fashion losing to No. 2 UConn who eventually won the national championship.
To add to that loss, superstar sophomore guard JuJu Watkins suffered a torn ACL in the second round of the NCAA Tournament which ended her season.
However, looking ahead to next season, the Trojans have one of the best recruits in the country in the 6-foot-1 guard Jazzy Davidson.
ESPN announced that Davidson is now the No. 1 recruit in the ESPNW 100 for the top recruits in the country.
Davidson responded with a one word reaction to the incredible news, stating that she is "grateful."
The young guard is humble and blessed to be ranked as the top recruit in the nation, and has a lot to prove as she will join the Trojans next season.
Assuming Watkins' recovery goes smoothly, a back court of her and Davidson could be one of the best in the country as they attempt to claim a national championship.
Fans around the sport cannot wait to see Davidson lace up for USC next season, already imagining great things from her and Watkins playing together.
The Trojans still have work to do on the recruiting front, as Davidson is the only official recruit thus far.
They have a lot of returning players, including their player of the year in Watkins, but acquiring some more recruits in the coming months would be big for building the program's longevity even more.
Only a few months away, but looking ahead to the Jazzy-JuJu combination will be something to continuously keep our eyes on.
