The 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and we've got you covered with in-depth scouting reports on all of the top prospects at every position in this year's class.
Here's everything you need to know about South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori heading into the 2025 draft:
Height: 6-3
Weight: 227
Age: 21
Emmanwori is a physically imposing defender who can strike fear into opposing offenses just by stepping off the bus. His towering, well-built frame comes with impressive length, allowing him to create and win contested-catch situations and shut down tight ends down the field. His physicality makes him extremely effective as a downhill defender when attacking the run, as he’s unlikely to be neutralized by skill-position players in blocking assignments, and he’s twitchy enough to avoid contact with offensive linemen, leaving him free to make the tackle. Emmanwori’s experience at corner also gives him a ton of scheme versatility at the next level, and it shows when his ball skills lead to big plays.
Like many bigger defensive backs, Emmanwori can struggle with his transitions, especially against the shiftiest receivers when he’s forced to match them with short-area burst and quickness. As a downfield cover man, Emmanwori can rely too much on his size/length/physicality combo, creating too much contact with the receiver and drawing costly penalties. He’s much more comfortable in the box or coming downhill to close on passing plays than he is keeping pace downfield or trying to cover wide swaths of the field with closing speed in zone assignments.

There aren’t many safeties with Emmanwori’s physical tools, and while his size can make it challenging for him to handle certain responsibilities that require more fluidity, he should find a ton of success at the next level with a defense that puts him in the box and takes advantage of what he does best as a run defender and letting him work from the top down in coverage.
