The 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and we've got you covered with in-depth scouting reports on all of the top prospects at every position in this year's class.
Here's everything you need to know about Utah State wide receiver Jalen Royals heading into the 2025 draft:
Height: 6-0
Weight: 205
Age: 22
Explosive in every way, Royals has impressive long speed to beat defenses deep, and lightning-quick short-area burst to embarrass defenders when he breaks off his routes and after the catch. He’s got a well-built frame that allows him to play through contact and break tackles, and he shows a great feel for finding soft spots in zone coverage and turning upfield quickly once he gets the ball in space. He can line up all over the field and challenge defenses in different ways, and he’s tough enough to make difficult catches over the middle and work through traffic on screens. Royals’ playmaking instincts with the ball in his hands makes him a threat to score every time the ball comes his way.
Royals finds most of his trouble at the line of scrimmage, where he can be late getting into his routes because he gets caught up hand-fighting against opposing corners in press-man coverage. He’ll need to clean up his releases if he wants to beat bigger, more physical NFL corners off the snap without getting behind and disrupting his timing with the quarterback. He’ll be coming off a season-ending foot injury, so predraft medical checks could be key for his draft stock.

Every NFL offense wants the kind of explosiveness and versatility Royals has, especially with a stout frame that’s ready for the pro game. If he can improve his release mechanics at the next level, Royals has all the makings of a big-play machine who could quickly become the focal point of any passing offense.
