Elite tight ends are not easy to find but the consensus is that the 2025 NFL Draft crop of tight ends could be as strong as some of the best classes in recent memory, so creating my list of top 20 has NOT been easy!

Colston Loveland is in a tier by himself, as he continues to make the case for him being the top tight end in the class, as well as one of the best to do it from Michigan. He has a high football IQ, a great size/speed combination, and does everything the modern-day tight end needs to do at the next level. At this point, I’d be surprised if he isn’t a 1st round tight end.
Prieskorn, Lachey, and Fanin are my next tier of tight ends, and I could see them go in any order based on the team’s needs of the team drafting them. Fanin is one of the more productive tight ends from 2023 but has started strong in 2024 thus far (from a fantasy perspective, people will LOVE his receiving skillset).
Warren and Helm are guys who could wind up pushing up my list because of their all-around solid skill sets. Both players have good size/speed/athletic profiles, I believe both could be inline players or flexed out as a “big slot” player at the next level.
After those top 6 players, you have plenty of question marks, and former wide receivers converted to tight end. Trying to rank them was quite thorough leading up to this article. All of the players have some trait or toolset that is intriguing but will need to step up the rest of this college season to push their way up teams’ draft boards.
Over the last 8 years, we’ve seen an average of 14 tight ends drafted in any given year, with only 1 possibly going in the first round. We have seen a year where no tight ends were drafted in round 1 (2020, 2022) and a year (2017) where we saw three tight ends going in round 1. So looking at the facts of the matter, this list gives us a pretty good idea of a majority of the tight ends we’ll probably see drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, so make sure to keep an eye on how these players produce this season!
