Texas Tech has added another talented prospect to its 2026 recruiting class by landing a commitment from Kaegan Ash, a standout three-star linebacker from Mount Enterprise High (TX).

The 6‑foot, 205‑pound athlete chose the Red Raiders on Sunday, adding future depth and athleticism to the program’s front seven.

“It just felt like a good place,” Ash said. “A place I can go and compete at the top level. They have top-of-the-line players, and I can just go out there and compete each day and get better. I’m gonna be bringing a bunch of stuff. Good defense and I’m gonna try to win every game, especially.”

Ash emerged as one of the stars of Texas Tech’s camp, earning his offer on June 8 after a standout performance that included the best metrics of his career — a swift 4.47-second 40-yard dash with some explosive broad jump numbers.

While his junior season featured 1,960 rushing yards and 32 TDs on offense, his defensive impact was equally impressive: 49 tackles, 9 TFLs, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Known for his versatility, Ash also excelled in track, running a 10.89s 100m, 22.56s 200m, and clearing over 49 ft in the triple jump.

Kaegan Ash’s commitment marks a strategic win for Texas Tech, it’s a home-state victory, and a confirmation of the Red Raiders’ rising stature in recruiting. Ash plays with serious speed and aggression, which is never a bad thing to have on your side.
