Grainger has been attempting a football comeback for some time, regularly documenting his progress on social media. He’s posted videos of himself running routes in full gear and showcasing his footwork as he aims to play wide receiver.

While many are excited about Grainger’s commitment, there has also been some backlash directed at Fran Brown.
The head coach just finished a three-win season, and his first offseason move was to sign a 5-foot-8 wide receiver who is already in his mid 20's.
Brown has already made several staff changes following the season, firing Syracuse’s special teams coordinator Ricky Brumfield, offensive line coach Dale Williams, defensive line coach Joe Schaefer, and co-defensive coordinator/linebacker coach Robert Wright.
