According to Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, the San Francisco 49ers met with Penn State defensive tackle Coziah Izzard ahead of the Nittany Lions' Pro Day, which took place on Friday.

With the 2025 NFL Draft approaching, most expect the 49ers to bolster their defensive interior after releasing Javon Hargrave and Maliek Collins this offseason. The team enters the upcoming season with minimal depth along the defensive line.

Izzard appeared in 50 career games at Penn State but started only seven—none since 2021. He finished his collegiate career with 78 tackles (18 for a loss), nine sacks, and two forced fumbles, per Sports Reference. In 2024, he recorded a career-high 31 tackles (seven for a loss) while tallying two sacks.

At Penn State's Pro Day, Pauline reported that Izzard measured 6-foot-1, 298 pounds, and posted a 4.79-second 40-yard dash, a 34-inch vertical jump, and 26 bench press reps. He also recorded a 9-foot-5 broad jump, according to Greg Pickel of Blue White Illustrated.

In addition to the 49ers, Pauline states that Izzard met with the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

"Size is a limiting factor, as Izzard is solely a one-gap, three-technique defensive tackle, yet he's woefully underrated," Pauline wrote.
