4-Star Quarterback Decommits From College Football Playoff Team

College football recruiting is a game of give and take. For programs not typically among the game's elite in the recruiting rankings, the loss of a four-star commit, especially at quarterback, can strike a big blow.

On Thursday, the Boise State Broncos suffered a big loss to their 2026 recruiting class when Bryson Beaver, a former four-star and current three-star prospect out of Murrieta, Calif., decommitted. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound signal-caller committed to the Broncos in April, but that plan appears to be nixed because the Oregon Ducks made an offer.

Per On3, in addition to Boise State and Oregon, Beaver also has offers from Northern Arizona, San Jose State, Nevada and Florida Atlantic.

The Broncos' 2026 class ranks 64th and is highlighted by a pair of three-star wide receiver commitments: Terrious Favors from Atlanta, Georgia, and AJ Logan from San Diego, California.

Boise State also already had another quarterback commit from three-star Tradon Bessinger from Kaysville, Utah.

The Broncos will be relying on redshirt junior quarterback Maddux Madsen this season. Last season, he passed for 3,018 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. Including Madsen, the Broncos' offense will return seven starters.

Meanwhile, the Ducks have a stacked recruiting haul for 2026 despite only receiving seven commitments thus far. Five-star tight end Kendre Harrison spearheads their class. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound prospect is rated as the 38th best player in the country, third-best at his position and third-best in North Carolina, per Rivals.

The Ducks have missed out on several 2026 quarterback prospects already this year, including the No. 1-rated player, Faizon Brandon, who committed to Tennessee. Per 247Sports, the Ducks have extended 21 offers to quarterbacks, with Beaver being one of the lowest-rated.
