The Oregon Ducks are looking to build on their recruiting class of 2026. The Ducks have been battling for four-star safety Jett Washington, and gaining momentum with his recruitment. Washington is setting up his official visits, with Oregon being one.

Washington is a four-star safety that many football programs are pushing for. Per the On3 Industry Rankings, he is the No. 36 recruit in the nation, the No. 4 safety, and the No. 1 player from Nevada.

The Oregon Ducks and the Alabama Crimson Tide are the two schools Washington is connected to the most. The other programs to watch for are Georgia, Michigan, Texas A&M, and USC. Each program keeps in touch with the four-star prospect.

“Alabama and Oregon are, have a lot of similarities and there are some differences,” Washington told On3. “They are both top programs with top players. Alabama has been at the top and is a very consistent program. Oregon is working to get to the top and is almost there.”

“Both programs have great coaching staffs. They are recruiting me hard and I like a lot about both schools,” Washington continued.

The Oregon Ducks have been contenders for a while but had a top 2024 season. The Ducks went undefeated in the regular season and were ranked the No. 1 team in the College Football Playoffs. The Ducks lost in the Rose Bowl against the Ohio State Buckeyes, but the program is showing more consistency at a winning level.

Washington’s official visit with the Oregon Ducks is set for June 13, which will be after his official with Alabama. Washington has visited Oregon in the past and discussed how well it went and had high praise for Ducks coach Dan Lanning and coach Chris Hampton.

“My last visit to Oregon was great. It is a great program and they are recruiting me as hard as anyone. Coach Hampton is a great coach, Coach Lanning has the program going up and I liked it a lot when I was up there.”

The last visit with the Ducks was in April and helped push Oregon high on Washington's list. Washington brought his mother for the first time and had the opportunity to spend time with the Duck’s true freshmen. The visit increased Oregon’s chances of landing the four-star safety.

“Since Dan Lanning’s got there, every single year they’ve had more draft picks and just a better record every single year. The fact they’re trending in the right direction,” Washington said in April.

The Ducks had two first-round draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft and ten players in total selected. Oregon is a program that sends players to the league, which is an intriguing aspect for Washington.

The Oregon Ducks class of 2025 is ranked No. 7 in the nation and No. 3 in the Big Ten, per On3. The Ducks have received seven commitments, including one five-star recruit and four four-stars.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Ducks received commitments from several four-star players including defensive lineman Tony Cumberland, linebacker Tristan Phillips, and safety Xavier Lherisse.
