7-on-7 Team Goes Viral After Disrespecting Cam Newton to His Face
Jake Crandall / USA TODAY NETWORK

Before becoming an 11-year NFL vet, quarterback Cam Newton took the college football world by storm as a member of the Auburn Tigers

After an unceremonious two-year stint with the Florida Gators and a brief stop at Blinn Junior College, Newton led Auburn to an undefeated record and a national championship victory, becoming a household name as the 2010 Heisman Trophy Award winner.

Newton's elite performances led to him becoming the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, and he would eventually win a league MVP award before retiring after the 2021 campaign.

However, not everyone has come to appreciate the contributions and memories left by Newton during his playing days. This weekend, during a 7-on-7 event, a Florida-based team stomped on a Cam Newton Auburn jersey while playing a team coached by the Heisman winner.

Newton's 7-on-7 club, C1N, went to bat for their coach, beating the South Florida Express 38-17. Scoring a touchdown for C1N was Travis Hunter, the brother of reigning Heisman Trophy Award winner and Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter.

Newton founded C1N in 2011, during his rookie season with the Carolina Panthers. Since the organization's inception, C1N has won five national championships and produced 30 NFL players, according to its official website. Justin Fields, George Perkins, and Bo Nix are among the alumni.

Alongside a heated competition between the two 7-on-7 juggernauts, the Georgia Bulldogs received a commitment from a player donning the South Florida Express colors.
