ACC Powerhouse Gets Huge Update on Injured Star WR
© Alicia Devine/Tallahassee Democrat / USA TODAY NETWORK

The ACC is a tough conference to predict each year, as the same team has not won the conference title since Clemson from 2015-2020.

From 2021-24, four different teams have claimed the ACC Crown. Pittsburgh won in 2021, followed by Clemson in 2022, Florida State in 2023, with the Tigers winning again last season.

The Seminoles emerged as a surprise ACC contender after upsetting No. 8 Alabama 31-17 in Week 1 as a 14-point underdog via BetMGM Sportsbook.

On Monday, On3's Pete Nakos reported that receiver Squirrel White was not believed to have suffered a season-ending injury. White caught one pass against East Texas A&M on Saturday before leaving the game with an injury.

White transferred to Florida State this offseason after spending the last three seasons with Tennessee. From 2022-24, White accounted for 1,665 receiving yards and six touchdowns for the Volunteers.

This is good news for the Seminoles since White has become one of the favorite targets of quarterback Thomas Castellanos. Castellanos is also in his first season in Tallahassee after transferring in from Boston College.

White made a massive play in the win over Alabama, securing a pass from Castellanos that went for 40 yards.

The former Tennessee wideout was a four-star prospect in the 2022 class, hailing from Pinson, Alabama. He was the No. 63 receiver in his class.

The Seminoles experienced significant roster turnover due to the transfer portal this offseason. Florida State's top transfer additions included Castellanos, White, former USC wideout Duce Robinson and former Houston corner Jeremiah Wilson.

The good news for Florida State is that White has plenty of time to recover from his injury before its ACC opener with Virginia on September 26. The Seminoles have a bye in Week 3 and face Kent State on September 20.

Kickoff for Florida State-Kent State is at 3:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network.
