A future Texas A&M quarterback is already picking up hardware before touching down in College Station.

Four-star passer Miles O'Neill was named the 2023-24 Gatorade New Jersey Football Player of the Year. The 6-5 senior gunslinger dazzled at The Hun School during the 2023 season to earn the honor, which was announced Wednesday.

Last season, O'Nieill threw for 2,100 yards and 20 touchdowns while leading the Raiders to an 8-1 record and the Mid-Atlantic Prep League championship. He also was named the MAPL Offensive Player of the Year for helping secure a spot in the title game.

Listed as the No. 20 QB recruit, per On3, O'Neill hopes to continue his prominent playing career in College Station under New York native and first-year coach Mike Elko. He was the only quarterback to commit to the Aggies as part of the 2024 recruiting class.

O’Neill transferred from Marblehead High School in Massachusetts to better his playing career in New Jersey at The Hun School. According to Gatorade, as part of the honor, O’Neill will also receive a grant to donate to a social impact partner.

O'Neill won't be the first A&M player to receive the honor. Former defensive end Fadil Diggs won New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year while attending Camden Eastside (2019).

Diggs recently announced his intent to transfer to Syracuse, along with former A&M defensive line coach and New Jersey native Elijah Robinson.

The Aggies open the 2024 season at Kyle Field on Aug. 31 against Notre Dame.
