
Ty Simpson took over as the starting quarterback of the Alabama Crimson Tide ahead of the season and has his team in position to compete for a national title.
Alabama is preparing for a matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC title game, looking to win its second game against UGA this season.
Ahead of conference title weekend, before the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide face off for the championship trophy, the Manning Award finalists were announced.
On Thursday, Alabama announced that Ty Simpson had been named a finalist for the Manning Award, along with several other top stars in the college football landscape.

Ty Simpson has been named a finalist for the Manning Award along with the following quarterbacks: Gunner Stockton, CJ Carr, Haynes King, Fernando Mendoza, Drew Mestemaker, Dante Moore, Diego Pavia, Marcel Reed and Julian Sayin.
The Manning Award honors the top quarterback in college football annually while recognizing the Manning family, who have produced some of the best quarterbacks in college football history, with Peyton Manning with the Tennessee Volunteers and Eli Manning with the Ole Miss Rebels.
Throughout his first season as the starting quarterback of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ty Simpson has posted 25 touchdowns and 3,056 yards with a 65.8 completion percentage.
He's looking to lead Alabama to its first-ever trip to the 12-team College Football Playoff.
