Alabama football held James Smith and Jaeden Roberts out of its second scrimmage.
Both players were also held out of the first scrimmage.
Roberts is going through concussion protocol, and Smith is working back to being full go after being limited in the spring.
“James is actually, starting with him, James has been working through, building up, feel good about the progress he’s had in the week of practice with it being live, needed to hold back there, but he’s getting closer by the day,” DeBoer said. “Jaeden has a concussion. Just tell you what it is, and he’s going through the protocol of that, and so hasn’t done anything from the team standpoint, started working back into that protocol, which included being out there today and not to participate in the scrimmage.”
The Crimson Tide continue to rotate at its guard sports with Roberts sidelined for the moment. Smith is expected to be a major contributor along the Tide’s defensive front in 2025.
