He has taken the Alabama football program by storm since arriving in the summer, but now a new development has happened.
Ryan Williams, a freshman wide receiver, is listed as a starter for the Crimson Tide in Saturday’s matchup against Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wis. He was the No. 2 receiver at the X position behind Kendrick Law in games versus Western Kentucky and South Florida; however, Williams has impressed the coaches enough to be named a starter.
Williams will start in the slot (H) over Kobe Prentice, while Caleb Odom is his backup.
The 6-foot, 175-pounder leads the Tide in receptions (six), yards (207), and touchdowns (three) after two games.
All of his scores have come on plays of 20+ yards.
Williams and the Tide face the Badgers at 11 a.m. CT on FOX.
