The No. 17 Alabama Crimson Tide captured one of the biggest wins of the weekend on Saturday night, traveling to Athens to knock off the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs 24-21.

After a Week 1 loss to Florida State, Alabama’s margin for error is slim, and a second early-season defeat could seriously damage their College Football Playoff hopes, especially with several challenging SEC matchups still on the schedule.

One of those matchups comes this week against the No. 18 Vanderbilt Commodores, and on Sunday morning, ESPN’s "College GameDay" announced that the popular pregame show will be traveling to Tuscaloosa for its Week 6 broadcast.

"T-TOWN. ARE YOU READY??" Alabama posted.

Crimson Tide fans reacted to the news:

"I can't believe I reached the day when Bama-Vandy was a Gameday Game. Roll Tide!" A fan said.

Someone else added, "Not deserving, but ok lol. Let’s go vandy!"

Another person wrote, "Who ever thought Bama-Vandy would be a gameday game??"

"College GameDay for Alabama’s revenge game against Vanderbilt. What a time to be alive. And to be Clark Lea," a fan shared.

One more fan commented, "GameDay to a Vanderbilt-Alabama game. College football has changed."

College GameDay chose to feature Alabama’s matchup over an in-state showdown between Miami and Florida State, likely influenced by the Seminoles’ recent loss to the Virginia Cavaliers.

Adding to the intrigue, last season Vanderbilt pulled off a thrilling upset over No. 1-ranked Alabama—the biggest win in program history. Manning the Commodores’ offense this week will be the same quarterback, Diego Pavia, who orchestrated that historic victory.
