The freshman wide receiver traveled with the team to Tampa for the ReliaQuest Bowl but did not dress for the game or take part in practice.
Despite not seeing game action, Jefferson earned recognition as the scout team player of the week by the coaching staff for the South Carolina game.
Coming from the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jefferson was a consensus four-star recruit and the top player in the state according to On3. He has become the 16th scholarship athlete from the Crimson Tide to enter the transfer portal.
Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 197 pounds, Jefferson had originally committed to play baseball at Tennessee.
In June 2023, he took official visits to Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, before narrowing his focus to the home-state Volunteers and the Crimson Tide as his senior season approached.
He visited Tennessee again on July 28, 2023, before returning to Alabama the next day, ultimately announcing his commitment to the Crimson Tide on August 5, 2023.
