Alabama has to keep its focus.
It’s unbeaten in SEC play, the loss to Florida State seems like it happened five years ago, and the team is coming together. There are flaws and faults, but in a year without a seemingly amazing SEC team, the Tide are filling that void.
They have to keep their focus, with a week off next before dealing with LSU to start a three-game homestand.
South Carolina needs a hug.
It lost four of its last five games, the offense has gone bye-bye, and there’s no hope ahead with road games at Ole Miss and Texas A&M up next. However, Coastal Carolina and Clemson are winnable, to pull off the upset over Bama, and the season might turn around.

South Carolina can't get anything going.
The offense has zero ability to keep the chains moving, the defense isn't stopping anyone from converting on third downs, and even with LaNorris Sellers firing away, the passing game is struggling.
The Gamecocks aren't getting rocked through the air, but they haven't faced anything like Alabama's attack.
Tide quarterback Ty Simpson has settled in, with just one interception on the year, 18 touchdown passes, and with a mastery of the offense that's doing a wonderful job keeping the tempo under control. But ...
Can the Gamecocks bash away?
The offensive line has been underwhelming so far, but the ground game has had a few nice moments. It didn't go anywhere against Oklahoma last week, but it rumbled against Kentucky in the win and was able to keep it close against LSU.
To pull this off, though, South Carolina has to be a brick wall against the run. It's 3-0 when allowing fewer than 146 rushing yards, 0-4 when giving up that many or more, and ...
Alabama has only rushed for more than 146 yards once, and that was against ULM.
Again, South Carolina is way, way, way overdue to come up with a big game when the solid playmakers rise up and produce, but they've been all underwhelming from the start.
No, Alabama won't do much of anything on the ground, and South Carolina will generate enough of a pass rush to matter, but once again, the offense won't come through.
The Tide will have to work for it, but they'll survive with a big push in the fourth quarter, and then it's on to the two-week break.
